We have done a ton of swimming with friends this summer. My kids love to swim and Harrison has been swimming so good without any floaties! I am so proud of him. He does really well. He looks a little bit like he's drowning but when you try to help him he says "leave me alone I am swimming." He's growing up so fast.

Sunscreen anyone???

These kids climb everywhere. Nick went downstairs and found Avery climbing up into the windowsill. They are crazy!

Twilight Concert Series. Wow...there are a lot of crazy people at Pioneer Park. Nick has a friend that invited us and we went, and it was fun, but not quite the family scene.

Harrison enjoyed dancing to the music.
Avery enjoyed just being out with daddy.

July 18th I can finally get a clip in her hair!

Finally there is enough hair to get a clip in!

Lake Powell was an adventure to say the least....but we had fun. This was our first trip down with both kids. Nick and I had a great plan to drive down to Bull Frog in the evening (so the kids would sleep) and sleep in the truck when we got there. Then the next morning we would launch the boat and go find a camp spot. Our truck had a little break down about half way, which my handy man Nick fixed right up. We got there with the kids not having slept as we would have hoped. Then I slept in the back of the truck with Avery on an air mattress that we quickly found out had a hole in it, and Nick crammed on the front seat of the truck with Harrison in the back seat. After a very restful nights sleep we found a great spot to camp with Nick's family. And the rest and relaxation began.....sort of. It is a lot of work to take two little kids to Lake Powell....

At our truck breakdown spot we had a little photo shoot to kill some time.

Napping kids are the best....
....grumpy kids in the morning are not the best.

Harrison had a great time swimming with his cousins. Again, for memories sake, on this trip one morning Harrison was whining so much that I threw him in the lake. We were out in the deep water and he had his life jacket on and I told him if he didn't quit he was going to get tossed in the lake. He didn't quit...so I picked him up and dropped him in. Obviously he came up still crying but man, it felt so good. He rode the rest of the day with grandma and grandpa telling them "My mom is so mean...she just threw me in the lake."

We went to Stadium of Fire and it was super fun. For memories sake, I have to say that Harrison ate a hot dog, a bag of cotton candy, and half way through a snow cone Harrison threw up a hot dog, a bag of cotton candy, and half a snow cone. Nick took him to the bathroom to get him cleaned up and when he came out I asked him if he was ok and he said, "Mom, I just got a little too much sun today." He ended up being fine and really liked it. He described it to everyone as "the fire works with the music".

...again with the posing.

Brad Paisley was the main singer, and I think that I was quite possibly the ONLY Brad Paisley fan in the whole place. David Archuleta opened for him and the way the crowd reacted when he walked out, you would have thought Bono was up on stage. But when poor Brad came out....nothing. I thought he was great (not as good as Bono, but great nonetheless).

We did fireworks a lot this summer... the kids loved it! Avery would watch and scream with delight, she thought they were so awesome.

By the time we were done so was Harrison. Even with the noise....when this kid is tired he is tired.

Our first boating trip this summer was June 11th and it was a little chilly...but the kids had a great time and they looked super cute!

Harrison has been all into posing for pictures....he thinks they are so funny. He tells me to take his picture and then looks at it and says, "Mom, how funny is that?"

Avery loves the boat and doesn't mind her life jacket, but she hates anyone to hold her on the boat. She has too much to explore.

Again with the posing....
I could kiss her cute face all day!
Nick calls this Harrison's Joseph F. Smith pose.
