Christmas Time

We went outside to play in the snow today. When I first got Harrison dressed he wasn't too happy, but once we got outside he had fun being pulled around the yard on his little sled.

We had a great Christmas. We still don't get a huge reaction out of Harrison when he opens presents, but he has loved playing with all his new toys, and we have watched Kung Fu Panda at least 5 times!

We hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas!

I love this picture of him! He loves decorating Christmas trees!
You'll notice how well he spreads the ornaments around! I remember being little and really thinking that I was dispersing ornaments evenly; it probably looked like this.
We went to see the lights on temple square and it was FREEZING, but worth it. Harrison kept taking his mittens off and his hands were like little icicles. He liked looking at the lights and kept saying, "Whoa mommy! " I love going down to see the lights.
This is Harrison's new room all done and painted. There's nothing hung on the walls yet but we will get there. Harrison has been so excited for his new room and big boy bed. He keeps talking about it and saying he wants to sleep in it so tomorrow night we will try it. He had his first sleepover at grandma's the other night and did well. He fell asleep on her couch and then stayed on the little floor bed that she made him. I am hoping he does as well here! We'll keep you posted!

Did you know....

...chicken nuggets means pizza? I asked Harrison at least three times today if he wanted chicken nuggets or pizza for lunch, and all three times he enthusiastically said chicken nuggets. I was going to have pizza due to the fact that I am not a huge fan of the dino nugget, and since I have been pregnant Little Ceasar's pizza has been climbing up the list of favorite pizza places (Pizza Man in North Ogden being my favorite...forever). Anyway I started his nuggets and then got out the pizza, and suddenly he was begging for pizza. Did you also know that you HAVE to eat pizza on two plates, mommy's original plate, and a plate for your "salsa" (which to Harrison apparently means ranch). By the time the nuggets were done he'd eaten two pieces of pizza and a jello. Macy pooch enjoyed a nice lunch of dino nuggets and fries. In the end everyone was happy!
Don't you just want to kiss that messy face? Oh Harrison, we love you so much!
Harrison also now enjoys wearing "unerwears"...on top of his pants! He asks everyday. Some days I give in because it is just so funny!

Last night we put up our Christmas tree and from the moment I got it out Harrison was begging to put on the lights! How does he know that? Anyway, his newest favorite thing is to plug and unplug the tree lights!
Although I don't have any pictures we had a great Thanksgiving with Nick's family this year. I don't want the season to go by without me telling my family how grateful I am for them. Nick is the best husband a girl could ask for and Harrison is the best little man a mommy could hope for! I love them both so much!

Harrison do it!

That is the stage of life I am in....Harrison do it!. He wants to do everything from brushing his teeth to climbing into his car seat and buckling himself. If either of us tries to help we get told, "No, Harrison do it!" He wants the lids off his cups too which is a huge mess. Everything takes twice as long and usually results in him looking like this..... messy and sticky and stinky, but still always cute. The only thing he really wants me to do is, "ew, ew clean it up mommy!" So, I guess that's what I will do. This too shall pass right?

Fall cleanup

We have a ton of trees in our backyard, which means in the fall we have a million leaves to cleanup. It took us the entire day on Saturday, and at least 25 bags (I lost count).

The sad thing is that 3 days later, it looked like we hadn't done anything. I went out and mowed up an entire city garbage can and bagged 9 more bags. There are still a few more that need to drop but I think the worst is over.
I have decided I probably will never again go to the zoo in the summer. We went last week and the weather was perfect, the animals were out because it wasn't so hot, and we had so much fun. This baby elephant was so cute! Harrison loved watching it.The cute tigers. There were 3 babies. My mom was nice to come with us and Harrison loved having her there.

HALLOWEEN

Since the beginning of October we've been telling Harrison about Halloween and that he was going to be a lion. We'd ask him what he was going to be for Halloween and he'd say, "A lion, roar!" Well about a week ago I asked him what he was going to be for Halloween and he said, "a pumpkin mommy". I don't know where he got that from especially since all pumpkins are "stary" (scary). Needless to say he was a little disappointed about being a lion. We got him all dressed up and then I made the mistake of letting him look at himself in the mirror, he lost it and cried and cried. Our little cowardly lion. He looked so cute.

It took a few houses before he was able to brave all the scary pumpkins and walk to a door without crying. He warmed up to it once he figured out everyone was going to give him candy. He even said trick-or-treat a few times. It was so cute!
I can't believe how much he has grown up. It's like all the sudden you wake up and your baby is a big boy. It's sad, but it is so fun to watch him learn new things and develop their little personalities. I love him so much. It was a great Halloween.

a new addition

We are expecting a new little peanut! I am 11 weeks pregnant...due May 19, 2010. We are so excited and looking forward to a new baby. This ultrasound pic is from 2 weeks ago, but I went to the doctor today and he said that everything looks great. The heartbeat, he said, is on the faster side, which I guess could indicate a girl...scary what will I do with a girl? The thought of two boys also makes my heart jump a little. Either way it will be an adventure!

Pumpkins

I thought I'd post a few pics of our pumpkin carving. Harrison was interested for about 5 minutes.

I know in this picture my pumpkin doesn't look like much, but when you light it up....I think it's "spooktacular".

A little too quiet....

I was watching Harrison and Emree the other night and they always play so good together. I thought, why not get a head start on dinner. They initially were in the front room and wandered to Harrison's room. Big deal right? Well things got a little quiet and I knew they were getting into trouble. I found them both on top of the changing table, which I don't really use as a changing table but more as a shelf for all the diapers and stuff because Harrison USUALLY can't get up there. They had thrown most everything off and were just laughing when I came in. If you will notice the lion to the left of the changing table, I believe this was how they got up. Needless to say, the lion has been moved (not that I think that will stop him but....)
Luckily no one fell and got hurt, and I couldn't stop laughing long enough to get mad. I notice these two get into a lot more trouble together than apart. Partners in crime I guess.
Another new trick Harrison has learned is how to climb INTO his crib. Hopefully he won't figure out how to get out until we get him a big boy bed!

Bear Lake

Last weekend we went camping up at Bear Lake. It was so much fun.Harrison loved the camp fire and the marshmallows. One morning he woke up and said, "Mommy, to the fire." He is so funny. Thanks Nick for sleeping with him all weekend, he is not the best bed partner.
It was kind of cold up there the first day and the water was freezing. You could definitely tell that summer is coming to an end.

Lagoon.....again, and a few other things!

We went to Lagoon for the third and last time of the year. I must say that Harrison seems to enjoy the rides more and more each time we go, and I seem to be able to endure less and less. Lagoon is not my favorite place in the world, but I love watching Harrison have fun on the rides. This time he got to ride with his best buddy Emree. They are four days apart and they get along great. In fact if we go for a week without seeing Em every time we get in the car Harrison will say, "Emee?". They are so cute.

Harrison loved riding the train.

We took a little trip to East Canyon and thoroughly enjoyed my parents new wave runners! Harrison loved sitting on them and pushing the buttons. He even says "Kawasaki".

Isn't it sad that we live right in Layton and neither Nick or I have been to Antelope Island since we were about 8 and 12? We decided we better go out there to see what all the fuss was about. If you ask Harrison what we saw he'd say, "buffaho, anteyope, and bid butt" (that means buffalo, antelope, and a big buck).
Before I post this I just wanted to tell Nick how much I love him. We just celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary! I can't believe how fast time goes by. It's been a fun 6 years and I hope we have many more!

Here are a few pics from our trip to Lake Powell. We had so much fun...Harrison especially. He was sandy and dirty and loved every second!

It hasn't been that long since I last posted but a ton of stuff has happened so this will be a long one. That's ok...I don't think anyone really reads this they just look at the pics anyway! Here we go...

We went to San Diego over 4th of July weekend with my family. It was so much fun. We got to spend time with my big bro Jeff and his family. It was a long drive but definitely worth it. The day we got there it was later in the day so we thought we'd go to the beach and hang out for a bit. Well, Harrison climbed up on a rock, fell off (of course) bit his bottom lip and scratched it up pretty bad. I know...where were his parents? We ended up calling him scar face the rest of the trip.

If you look really close in this picture you can see Shamu. Harrison loved "Samu" and he totally loved all the fishes at Sea World. He really loved riding the Elmo fish ride with Nick. He was so cute in line he kept yelling "Elmo fishy!"

(No I didn't pee my pants, we were trying to dry out after we got soaked on a ride)

This was at the night Shamu show. This was the last smile we got out of him that night. He was so tired.
The next day we went to the beach. I love the beach. It was so nice to hear the waves and stick my toes in the soft sand. Harrison had fun too. He loved letting the waves knock him over. Nick even tried his hand at surfing and did quite well. I didn't get a picture of it...darn! He got up a couple times on his knees. Good job honey!

All the kids at the Zoo. Mara, Jerusha, Micah, Harrison, Grandpa, Mia, Max, and Mason. Can you believe we survived the parks with all those kids? Harrison loved playing and getting to know his cousins. They are so cute and funny. I wish we saw them more. At the zoo they had a little petting zoo for the kids. There were sheep and goats and pigs. Very stinky, but fun!

These are the only good animal pictures I got from the zoo! The polar bear stood up and started scratching himself. It was funny, I had to take a picture!

Me and my Mara (and a rhino)! I just love her to death.

Harrison was so tired after such a long day at the zoo!

We weren't done with the theme parks yet... We went to Lagoon with Nick's side of the family. I was a little nervous about putting Harrison on the rides because he doesn't exactly sit really still. He did great! He didn't even really cry.

The boat ride was one of his favorites because he got to ring the little bell. Camry was a good sport to sit with him on all the kiddie rides. Thanks Cams!

These are all Harrison's cousins on Nick's side of the family. They are so fun, and Harrison loves to play with them.

On Friday we had a great experience. Harrison did his first poop in the potty. He started tooting in the tub (I am really sick of him pooping in the tub, it is gross) anyway, I got him out and sat him on his potty chair and he did it!!!

My friend Ashlee and I ran our first 1/2 Marathon and finished! We have been working so hard. It was great to cross the finish line. I finished in 2 hrs 16 min, which I think is good for my first race. It was so great to see Nick and Harrison and my parents at the end. Thanks for coming and supporting me! Love you guys!

The trail wasn't marked really well here at the end so I just want to thank the guy behind me in the yellow shirt for yelling out where I needed to go! Thanks!
