Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and a few other things that happened!

This is my Happy Thanksgiving picture because I forgot to take my camera to the actual Thanksgiving dinner. Harrison was being such a stinker and wouldn't look at me, but he had a good time playing in the leaves with Macy.

I love giving these two baths together. They are so cute and Avery thinks Harrison is the greatest thing ever. She is so fascinated with him, and he is a sweet big brother.

We went up to Rexburg, ID the weekend after Thanksgiving for my nephew Mason's baptism. I was wonderful. My brother, who has been serving in Iraq, was able to come home for 2 weeks to be able to baptize him. It was really a special day. It was great to get to see Jeff and spend time with him and his family. I love my brother so much and we all miss him a lot.
Avery enjoyed the baptism refreshments.
She is so cute.
Harrison, as always, enjoyed the treats as well.
....what can I say? I will for sure put this picture in his wedding video one day. A little word on his potty training. It's going quite well. We still have a few accidents, mostly with #2, and we USUALLY wake up to a dry bed. I would say he's pretty much got it, just a little more practice. I think by the time he's 3 he'll have it mastered. Didn't you tell me 3 was the magic age mom??? You were right.
Here are a few shots of Avery in her Christmas dress. She looked so cute and perfect, but she was SO slippery. I love the dress, but it really was hard to hang onto her during sacrament meeting....the things girls do for beauty!

We left Harrison down stairs with a cookie and a movie and he came up and said, "Daddy, I made a little mess." I don't know how he got so much chocolate on his face from a cookie.
Christmas Eve at my parents was fun. I have to document that I totally love this little outfit that Avery is wearing.
This is one of the few smiles we got out of Harrison Christmas Eve. He was sick with a high fever. Nick and I kept asking, "Buddy are you not feeling very good?" He would reply, "No mommy I am feeling very good." He hates to be sick because all he wants to do is play. I think that's how most kids are. He is feeling better now, although as I am blogging he is in bed coughing. It's the most wonderful time of the year!
We didn't take too many pictures opening presents on Christmas morning because neither Nick or I wanted to miss any of the action. Harrison got this super cool shield. He's been asking for one ever since he saw How to Train Your Dragon. Santa brought Avery a little walker, you know the kind with wheels that they don't make too often because kids walk them right down the stairs. She loves it. Her feet don't touch the ground yet so she just sits there and swings her legs to the music.

Nick scored us some free passes for a sleigh ride and dinner at the Snowed Inn at Park City Mountain Resort. It was so much fun. The food was great and the sleigh ride was awesome. The horses even had on jingle bells. It really got me in the Christmas spirit. Nick totally made one of my dreams come true. It was wonderful.
It was so cold, we left Avery with my sister. I think Harrison loved the one on one attention.
I love these two boys so much!

I hope that the holidays found you close to your family and friends. Family is the best and Thanksgiving and Christmas just wouldn't be the same without them. I am so thankful that the Lord has blessed me with a wonderful family. I don't know where I would be without them.

6 months old

Our little Avery girl is 6 months old. I know everyone says this, but I can't believe it. I feel like she just got here and at the same time it's hard to remember life without her.
She is sitting up on her own so well now. She still throws herself around a little bit, hence the pillow behind her.
Here are her six months stats:
14 lb 8 oz 22 percentile
25.5 inches 42 percentile
The doctor says he is growing beautifully.
A few things about Avery:
She is so sweet, and loves to grab your face and give you kisses.
She has a grip that will rip your skin off...ouch!
She loves to sit on your lap and watch Harrison jump on the couch, she cracks up laughing every time.
She loves to eat cereal, pears, applesauce, carrots, peas, peaches, bananas, basically anything you put in front of her.
She can hold her little bottle, and looks so cute while she's eating.
She loves her jumper.
She loves to splash in the bathtub.
Nick loves when she squeals with delight and pulls his hair when he tickles her.
She has a beautiful smile.
When she's nursing, or eating a bottle she reaches up and touches your face so softly.
Even though it wakes me up, I think it's funny that she wakes up at 4 am squealing happily in her crib like she's ready to play for the day.
She is a pretty loud baby, and if you sit by me in Sunday school or Relief Society you probably won't hear much of the lesson.
I love getting her dressed in the morning and picking out shoes and bows, and she hates every second of it. This girl would much rather be naked.
I love that when my mom and I go to the store we HAVE to buy her a new outfit or bow or pair of shoes, etc. We just can't control ourselves girl stuff is so fun to buy.
We love her to pieces!

Guess who is potty trained?? (Knock on wood.)

We were potty trained and then we weren't, so I hesitate to even post this. Maybe rather than say he is potty trained I will just say he has not had an accident for 3 days, and he has been telling ME when he needs to go rather than me just taking him. (That was a run on sentence for sure). Hopefully this time it sticks. We can't go back to diapers because we threw them all away. For those who need some help in the potty training department, the 3 day potty training by Lora Jensen really does work!

Happy Halloween

It was pouring rain on Halloween, but we still had fun! Nick took Harrison out, and I stayed home with Wonder Woman because she was a little sick. Harrison totally loved getting candy. I was sneaking a few pieces and he said, "Hey mommy, you are stealing my candy!"
I told you she really does smile!
Harrison loved that he had a mustache. He is such a cutie.

Man, this kid just melts my heart. I love him so much. Every time I ask him to go get some shoes he thinks it's funny to get his snow boots. He runs into the room with the boots on his hands and says, "Mommy, look, I have boot hands." I know it doesn't sound funny, but I think it's cute and it makes me laugh. Luckily this day I talked him out of wearing snow boots with his shorts before we left the house. And yes, that is a tattoo on his arm!

We had a little neighborhood Halloween party for the kids in our ward. I love his pirate costume, but I don't love keeping track of a hat, a bandanna, a sword, a hook, and pirate coins. Good thing we didn't get him the peg leg he begged me for, I don't have enough hands to carry all his props. Nick found Avery's costume. It's so cute so I have to give him the credit. She makes the cutest Wonder Woman.
Just a few more pictures of Avery propped up in the corner of our couch not smiling. Oh well, she's cute and she really does smile and giggle. One day we'll catch a good smile on camera. She's such a sweet thing.

5 months

Can you believe Avery is 5 months old? We adore this little love bug. How could you not love that face? She is the sweetest girl, and she really does smile and giggle, just not for the camera.
She is starting to like her jumper!
She loves to lay on the ground and grab her little feet. She grabs them and then squeals like it's the coolest trick. She is almost rolling over from back to tummy. She is a pretty good sleeper. She LOVES to eat her rice cereal (it's so nice to feed a baby that wants to eat). She always has a big smile for you in the morning when you get her out of her crib. She LOVES to watch her brother, and he LOVES to perform for her. We love her so much and we are so grateful that she's ours.

Avery Update

Avery is now 4 months old! She is such a sweet heart. At her 4 month appointment she weighed in at 12 lbs 6 oz 23%. For my babies that is fat! She is 24.5 in 61%. The doctor said she looked perfect.
We decided to start her on a little rice cereal. This was her first taste, and she seemed to like it I guess. I think the stuff is gross and stinky but I guess to a baby it tastes ok.
So messy!

I just love these two boys.
I love these little love bugs, and I am so lucky to be their mom.

Bear Lake

We went to Bear Lake with my family last weekend and it was so much fun! We love Bear Lake, when it's warm enough to play in. Love the water, love the beach!
This old man still has it!
Avery loved riding in the boat, and didn't really mind the life jacket too much. She's so cute!

I was going through Harrison's baby clothes to find Avery a little beanie to wear, she was a summer girl so I didn't really have any beanies. Harrison found this dinosaur beanie, I think it's 3-6 months, and he would not let it go. I had to pack it because he kept saying, "Mom did you pack my dinosaur hat?" It REALLY doesn't fit, but whatever, his head was warm.

Cute little Avery. She is so cute, and so good. This little girl has been more places in her 3 months than Harrison has in his whole life. She's such a trooper!
